Key Characteristics
The Ministry Practicum is a core part of training at Missio Dei Northeast, where theology moves from the classroom into real life. Students apply what they are learning through hands-on ministry in their local church—whether in discipleship, teaching, evangelism, or other areas of service. This ensures that learning is not only understood, but lived out in faithful ministry.
Each practicum is shaped by the student’s local church and led by their pastor or designated ministry leader. Together, they establish expectations, goals, and responsibilities based on the student’s gifts, growth areas, and ministry context. Throughout the process, pastors provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and evaluation.
The practicum forms students where it matters most—in the life of the local church. As they serve alongside others, students grow in character, conviction, and ministry competence while gaining meaningful, real-world experience. The result is not just theological knowledge, but faithful, prepared servants equipped to lead and serve in Christ’s mission.
